Coyote - look closely: he's on the road. |
Many of you my age and older may remember the sitcom, Green Acres, featuring Eddie Albert and Eva Gabor. "Farm Living is the life for me" are some of the lyrics in the sitcom theme song. The basic concept of the sitcom was:
Successful lawyer Oliver Wendell Douglas (Eddie Albert) longs to leave behind the complications of modern society and life as a Manhattanite, and despite the protestations of his glamorous socialite wife Lisa (Eva Gabor), Oliver buys a farm from swindler Mr. Haney. The couple says goodbye to city life and takes up residence in Hooterville, USA. Along with hired hand Eb, Oliver tries to make a go at being a gentleman farmer. Meanwhile, Lisa settles in to her new surroundings despite herself, and attempts to bring gracious living and the finer things to the oddball residents of this off-the-map town. From: TV Land website
You are probably wondering where this is going. We moved into our new home almost 6 months ago. I joke saying that we live in the country now. I love it - the home, the area, our neighbors, the deer. Everything, but my latest sighting - Mr. Coyote. We'd heard stories sightings from our neighbors, but never saw one ourselves. Until Sunday. I heard the geese going crazy on the pond - looked out the window and there he was. Skinny fella - just walking the neighborhood like he lived there. Oops, I guess he does. I know that we have moved into their territory. My main fear is our little pooches. So, we'll be extra careful when we take them out.
Come to think of it, I probably developed my love for yorkies from Lisa (Eva Gabor) . She had a little yorkie in the sitcom!
