Travel Thursday - Carolina Beach, North Carolina

As a child, every summer my family visited my mothers side of the family who happen to live in North Carolina. Wimington and Carolina Beach to be exact. I have the best memories of spending time with my cousins, Lisha, Donnie Jr, Kathy, Sonya and Steven. In fact, my mother and father didn't see my oldest sister and I for days when we arrived in town. I remember going to trying to go clamming, shrimping, etc. for a few extra dollars. I wasn't very good at it - being a "city" girl and all.  But I loved being on the ocean and I loved being with my cousins. Anyway, they live(d) near Carolina Beach.  Did I mention that I love the beach? My husband and I went there a few years ago and actually stayed in a hotel right on the beach. The place has really grown. We are planning another trip there in the near future.

Britt's Donuts  - SUPERB!!! 

 No frills donut shop on the boardwalk locating in a "garage".  According to the website, they are primarily open during the tourist season. I remember when we were there that they were only open on the weekend. Be sure to check times before you go.
