Indy Film Fest

I blogged a post here about the Indy Film Fest a few weeks ago. We've been very busy and didn't have a chance to go yet. So, when our friends the J's asked if we wanted to go on Friday, we jumped at the chance. They purchased a series of vouchers and had seen quite a few.

We decided to take in A Bag of Hammers. The film fest was being held in the IMA (Indianapolis Museum of Art) in the Tobey Theatre.

Just Pop In - a local pop corn business was selling their popcorn. So, of course I had to have a bag- right? I mean who gets Spicy Cheese Popcorn WITH a toothpick at the movies? Deciding I needed to get something to wash it down with, I opted for some water. Not just any water, but a natural flavored water. The venue offered up traditional choices like lemon and orange and a few different ones - strawberry/mango and pineapple. I opted for the strawberry/mango. Refreshing!
Ok - I know you are dying to hear about the movie. A Bag of Hammers was excellent. It had to be because I don't stay awake for most films. Even the action packed ones. For me to stay awake, it must have been good. Co-written by one of the stars, Jake Sandvig, the movie features one of the best looking casts I have seen in a while. The story starts off with two guys (Jake Sandvig and Jason Ritter) - friends - who are grifters. Somehow, they tend to run a successful, bogus valet service. The "valet service" is operated at several cemeteries. They are actually car thieves who steal the valeted cars.  Now, I know it's just a movie, but how would anyone get away with this scam for long? The movie also features a neighbor lady with a young son. I won't spill the whole plot. I will say that situations cause the guys to grow up - even though they still remain scammers.

I really wish we had the time to see more of the films in the series. Maybe next year.
