We are just a few weeks away from Black Friday. I have to say that I wasn't a big fan of shopping on Black Friday. Primarily because I worked retail for many years and "swore" that I would never set foot into a store if I wasn't working on Black Friday.
That held true for quite a few years. For several years, my husband and I were out of town during Thanksgiving - so, we weren't even in town. Then, one year we decided we should spend the time at home. A few of my relatives had created a Black Friday tradition. I decided to join them one year and fell in love. I'm not a fan of the push and shove, grab and go shopping method. I will wait until the crowd dies down at the front door and then go in the opposite direction of the crowd. I am able to do all of my typical household shopping then (who besides me is shopping for Windex?). The best? I get to spend some fun times with my family. I live vicariously through their stories at breakfast - LOL.
The last few years, I have been ill and couldn't participate, but my plan is to go this year. Do you participate? Why or why not?
I actually try to avoid stores around this time. Life is too short. And besides, I'm usually stooped over with post-turkey bliss.
