Hi, dolls -
As promised a while ago, here is a short interview with my blogging buddy, Kara of A Little Bit of Lovely. Kara has been such a great friend to me in the blogging world and graciously agreed to answer a few questions for us. Be sure to head over to her blog here for some great ideas!
What's the story behind the name of your blog?
I really struggled to find a blog name that represented me and what I love. Then it hit me! I am inspired by all things lovely; fashion, food, pink peonies, pedicures, blogs, interior design, beautiful stationery, God, my family, and the feel of a chubby little hand in mine. A Little Bit of Lovely represents all of the lovely things in my life.
What inspires you to blog?
When my oldest son was born 3 years ago, I decided to become a stay-at-home mom. I love nothing more than being home with my little boys – cooking for them, being there when they wake up from their naps, spending our days together, etc. However, there was a part of me that missed being creative and connecting with other adults. Once I started blogging, I was inspired by all of the amazing women I met and how much fun I had.
What are some of your go-to places for home design?
I am the standard Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, and West Elm kind of girl. Our kitchen table set came from World Market and it is one of my favorite pieces of furniture in our home. I also think it is fun to browse Craigslist or second-hand furniture stores for unique things that I can incorporate into our décor.
What are your favorite fall traditions?
Fall is one of my favorite times of year. Every year I go apple picking with my family and I make applesauce, apple crisp, and apple pies. We also make it an annual tradition to drive out into the country to pick pumpkins together and go for a hay ride. I then have fun decorating with the pumpkins, mums, and dried corn stalks.
Everyone knows I am a purse and nail polish freak. So, I have to ask - what is your favorite purse and your favorite nail polish brand/color?
I am a purse freak as well J One of my favorite purses is a dark, forest-green Kenneth Cole bag that I picked up on Michigan Avenue in Chicago . I love the color, the soft leather, and the details of the purse. It is the perfect fall/winter bag and it always reminds me of my wonderful trip to Chicago that year.
My two favorite nail polish colors are OPI Lincoln Park After Dark (especially in the fall and winter) and Essie Ballet Slippers.
Thanks for stopping by my little blog, Kara. Looking forward to many more years of blogging friendship. Who knows? Maybe we'll get to meet in person one day!
Erika
