 We have a banquet kitchen which I adore. You know how everyone seems to gather in the kitchen?  Well, that is exactly what happens at our gatherings. In the old house, it was a bit cramped when everyone wanted to hang out around the island and chat. So, when we built the new house, we decided to do a banquet kitchen. The banquet kitchen is basically where  the kitchen and the dining area are one big room.

 We opted to hold out on getting granite when we built. I am so glad we did because now I think I want white quartz? I love granite - it's beautiful, but I love the look of white against the dark kona cabinets that we have. From what I hear, quartz tends to be more durable.
