I think it is important to look good all the time. Whatever fits within your budget. I would suggest investing in some good staple pieces. A great white shirt, black pants, a blazer, a pencil skirt and a pair of black pumps. You should also invest in a great sturdy bag. I was talking to someone the other day and she said that she just couldn't see spending more than $30 on a bag. She just throws them away when they start falling apart and buys another. This just doesn't make sense to me. Being in her 40's, I am sure she has spent quite a few $30's on bags. Why not invest in a good one. I don't mean you have to go buy Chanel. You can get great quality bags from Coach, Kate Spade and Tory Burch. They all usually have discount codes or sales at different times of the year. Believe me, it's worth it.
What is the climate of your office/workplace? Is it conservative or creative? My office is conservative - but not outrageously so. Here are a few like type outfits I wear to the office. Some are clearly for casual Friday.
I love the look of white linen pants. I have several pair that I wear to work.
Isn't this look great? Love the coat......
...and one more
