Color Me Green

Happy early St. Patrick's Day....... Downtown Indy is full of lots of great "Green" things to do this weekend.

We have a canal downtown and every year for as long as I can remember, they have dyed it green for St. Patrick's Day. It's actually pretty cool. See?

The original color above (although, this looks a bit green, too.).

Looking for something to do in honor of the day? These activities were for via Indianapolis Downtown here.

At Indianapolis City Market, visitors can enjoy live music Friday during the noon hour and every customer will get green beads to wear!

City Market vendors will offer themed specials throughout the day. Claddagh Irish Pub is kicking off St. Patrick's Day weekend on March 14 with the Grand Irish Banquet Dinner & Beer Tasting, a five-course dinner pairing with traditional Irish dishes at 7 p.m. for $35 per person. Head back on Sunday for live music all day starting at noon!

Einstein Bros Bagels recently opened at 15 E. Market Street and will be serving green bagels March 15 – 17 and green shamrock-shaped cookies now through St. Patrick’s Day!

Just wanna stay home and eat some traditional Irish food? Then, why not try this twist on corned beef and cabbage..........

You can find the recipe here.

Shapiro's - a local deli here in Indy offers one of THE best Reuben sandwiches I have ever had. My Daddy would bring a few home for all of us on occasion. They are huge. So, a half would fill each of us up.....Mmmmmm, I'm getting hungry for one now! The rye bread is HOMEMADE...doesn't get much better than that. Add a side dish of cabbage and you are set!
