We moved into our new home in October and I was all gung ho about buying bulbs and planting them. Well, maybe not so much the planting. I planted bulbs when we built our last home. Unfortunately, the little chipmunks decided they wanted to dine on them. We ended up with NO Tulips or daffodils, but the day lilies and Tiger Lilies survived. It was always such a joy to know they would come back every year with practically no effort from me. So, I go out after I received all 75 of the ones for the new home. Only about half actually got planted. The rest were left in the garage for "another day". Well, that day finally came on Wednesday. I wasn't too surprised that some of them had little green sprouts. Our garage is finished and it probably got a little 'springy" in there for them. Anyway, I finished planting everyone of them. I am hoping they all make it.
We also have two hydrangeas bushes and a lilac bush in the front. The lilac bush is right at the corner of the house by the front door and outside of my office window. I hope our guests enjoy the fragrance when they come to visit. I plan to open my office window often to smell the wonderful scent. The lilac bush has already started sprouting little buds. A few weeks ago, they were just little brown buds. Now, they are turning green.
