Chicago Trip - part 2

We finally made it into the city. We typically stay on Michigan Avenue closer to the North end of the Avenue - down by the Drake, Gucci and Chanel.  This time, we stayed at the Fairmont Hotel on Columbus Avenue which is on the opposite end and about a block over. Best thing about this location?  Giordano's. The hotel was fabulously beautiful. It sore of reminded me of a W Hotel.

Had it not been so darn cold  freezing, I probably would have walked down to the other end of Michigan Avenue. Not only was it cold, it snowed Sunday night!  I know it's snows in April, but dang! We did go to Giordano's and have pizza on Sunday. This and Garrett's are my MUST haves when visiting Chicago. Garrett's didn't happen - snow. Yep, call me a wuss. I call it old age :).   I managed to eat one slice of this awesome pizza and was done for the hour. I completely finished two more slices at the hotel room. If you haven't had this pizza, you are missing a treat. I only get cheese because that's all I need. The sweetness of the tomato sauce and the oooey, gooey cheese partnered with the buttery crust will make you slap someone.

It is a great thing that we don't live in Chicago. I would be as big as a house from the pizza alone! Seriously, it's that good. The cheesy slices to the front of the picture are mine. The veggie filled pieces are for my husband who LOVES veggies.

Stay tuned for Chicago Trip - part 3 (the snow edition)......
