I knew when we moved into our home that I wanted a chalkboard in our kitchen. I've seen a ton of them over the last few years. There really wasn't anywhere in our old kitchen to put it. On a trip to IKEA about a month or so ago, we found one. It had tan wood trim, but I spray painted it silver to match the stainless steel in our kitchen. We used it for our grocery list as well as weekly scriptures.

We use it A LOT. The problem was most of the scriptures or affirmations I used were very long and/or so was our shopping list. Since we used it so much, I decided to finally commit to using chalkboard paint on the wall and framing that. Here is the start of the project (thanks to my hubby for putting it all together):
