October - Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Today is the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Though my family has not been directly affected by Breast Cancer, I do have many friends who have had mothers, sisters, brothers, fathers, friends, etc. who have. While we should always be aware, this month takes the time to increase our awareness.

The National Breast Cancer Awareness Month website is full of information. Information such as "How to read a Pathology Report", "Breast Diseases", "Find Support", "Patient assistance" and so much more. You can find out more on the website here.

There are also all sorts of ways you can help the effort to find a cure. Many of the brands we love are offering up pink items for sale with a percentage of the proceeds going towards the cause. I've included just a few here.

Eyes, lips, face lip gloss - 100% of the profits will go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation

Fergie Women's Awareness Shoe
Fergie Footwear by Fergie of The Black Eyed Peas. Her company will donate $20,000 to The Susan G. Komen Foundation.  These are so cute and a LOT cheaper than the Loubi's I featured a few days ago.

shower for the cure
Philosophy  Shower for a Cure.  100% of the proceeds will go to The Women's Cancer Research Fund.

From the Seventeen magazine website: For the first time in the company's history, Philosophy is expanding its charity efforts to make one of its best selling products a champion for positive change. Philosophy is releasing limited edition Hope in a Jar original formula moisturizer packaging to bring heightened awareness to the breast cancer cause.
The one-time-only, exclusive 2 oz will be available for $38 only at ULTA and Philosophy.com. $5 from every purchase will go directly to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

I'll feature many more items this month in addition to listing events supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

  1. Thanks for the post! I love seeing which companies help with Breast Cancer Awareness month, and I really appreciate those who donate 100% toward the cause! My mother-in-law had breast cancer and is a survivor!
