January 2012 Birchbox

As I wait for my February 2012 Birchbox, it occured to me that I didn't post my January Birchbox yet. Turns out that was a good thing. It actually gave me time to use the products and to give you a review of the items afterr using them for longer than a week or so.  So, here goes:

One of my favorites from the box:

Clark's Botanicals Smoothing Marine Cream is for your face, but I've also used it for my elbows. It's amazing. It reminds me a bit of La Mer and is almost as pricey, but well worth the cost. A 1.7 fl. oz 50 ml size is $115. Just remember, a dab will do ya.  It exfoliates as well as a moisturizes.  I've been using it every morning for the last month and I can definitely tell a difference in my skin.  I received a deluxe sample size in my box and I still have a good amount left.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner  in Blue Ribbon was quite the surprise. I've used and loved Stila products in the past, but have never used a blue eyeliner before.  It is amazing. I actually have worn this to work. Along with  dark brown mascara, the blue is not gaudy. In fact, it adds that extra pop to my eyes. I love that it's creamy and glides on with little effort.  The deluxe sample I received still has quite a bit left.  The cost? $20 - not bad.

The extra item I received this month was a Larabar mini bar. It was absolutely delish.  I think these would be perfect for carrying around in my bag. You never know when you might get a food craving and need just a bit to hold you over.

I have asthma and am not a huge fan of the fragranced items. So, I really can't review those products for you.

Birchbox is wildly popular and it seems they are all sold out of all subscriptions. They do have a waiting list you can sign up for here.

Please note: The "Ships Free" wording under the photos here may not be applicable if you don't have a membership to Birchbox.

  1. Ooh, how exciting! I just signed up for BirchBox and can't wait to get my first box :) I have asthma too though, so I completely understand about heavily fragranced items...
