So, I made a deal with myself. I will eat healthy foods and splurge every once in a while. My next scheduled splurge is coming up in a few months. We are going to Vegas. Yep - again. Well, again this year for me. I always have fun when I go to Vegas. We aren't big gamblers by any means. We love walking around (exercising can be fun) and seeing the sites of Vegas. There are also a few places there that are must dos on my food list. We'll do a lot of walking and it will be hot - I can indulge a bit - right? Well, here are the things I really want to eat when we get there - in moderation, of course.
FatBurger - I had my very first FatBurger in Vegas the morning of our wedding. It was THE best burger (besides my Mama's) that I have ever eaten. We don't eat a lot of red meat in our home, but this is ALWAYS on the list when we go to Vegas. My husband eats even less ( a lot less) red meat than I. He ordered the Turkey Burger the last time we were in Vegas. I actually liked this better than the regular burger. So, in order to stay a bit healthy, that is what I will order the next time.
Pink's Hot Dog's - Pink's is originally from LA. I actually had my first (and only) while we were on vacation a few years ago. My husband and I went with a friend - stood in a pretty long line and ate a Chicago dog outside at Pink's (all while shooing away the flies in the heat). Still, it was a great dog. Imagine my delight when I saw a Pink's sign in Vegas a few weeks ago on my girls trip. The girls really weren't up for dogs at the time. So, I didn't push getting one. I have added it to list of MUST EATS when my husband and I are in Vegas. The good thing is that it is inside the Plant Hollywood Hotel. Hopefully, that means I can eat it without having to worry about flies - lol.
Hash House A Go Go - This is actually a new addition as well. The girls and I went there when we arrived in Vegas. I have to tell you - if you eat this (or anything there) in the morning, you will be full the rest of the day. Each of us actually split an order of the chicken and waffles - it's that HUGE. There was STILL a lot left over. The waffles have real bacon strips cooked in to it. I think the total was $14. plus tax and tip. I have never had anyone come and take pictures of my food, but that is exactly what happened here.
It won't be all junk food all the time while we are there. We'll still eat healthy foods and try to stick to some sort of work out routine.
What are some of your favorite forbidden foods?
