The Postman Always Rings Twice....

We love watching old movies. Have you watched them? Aren't they the best.
I'm talking Lana Turner, Rock Hudson, Cary Grant, Doris Day kind of movies. Then, there are the ones with actors I have never heard of.

Yesterday, we watched The Postman Always Rings Twice featuring Lana Turner.  I fell asleep just once during the movie which is a good sign. I probably wouldn't have fallen asleep had we not just come back from a day of shopping AND just ate a full meal.

Anyway, I've seen these movie featured many times, but have never actually watched it. For some reason, I thought Fred MacMurray was is it. I thought it was the same movie where Fred plays an insurance guy and has an affair (or something like that). I just have a hard time seeing the dad from My Three Sons as an adulterer. So, I never watched the movie. Until yesterday.

What a great movie!

Basically, it's a tale of a woman married to a diner owner (see picture above). Enter the handsome drifter. The sparks fly and the drifter and wifey fall in love. They plan for his murder so they can be together and still own the diner. The plan fails, but eventually he does end up dying. The pair has to suffer the consequences of their deeds. Great movie.
