Thursday night, a friend and I attended Indy's Fashion's Night Out Event. In case you don't know, FNO  marked the kickoff to New York Fashion Week—a stylish way to start the season—and the festivities all happened on Thursday, September 8, from 6 to 11pm.

 Indy's event was held at The Fashion Mall in Indy. We arrived late - after 7PM - most of the events had already occurred. Bummer, but I had to work until 7PM. There were two fashions shows - one at Saks and another just outside of Nordstrom.  We did catch the last model walking at The Fashion Mall Fashion show.

 Saks was a buzz in the cosmetics section with Mini Mani's from the Chanel team, hand treatments from Jo Malone, and makeup applications from just about every makeup line represented at Saks. We took a fun little Fashion Quiz via Stylist on an iPad. Too cool.  There was a photo booth and wine on the second floor.

Oh, before I forget - the limited edition nail colors from Chanel are gorgeous.

Ok ladies - How excited am I for September 8th?  Not only is it my older sisters birthday, but it's also Fashion's Night Out across the country! The Fashion Mall at Keystone at the Crossing and Saks are participating in the event here in the Indy area - details below.  Is your city participating? Fashion's Night Out

The Fashion Mall proudly hosts Indiana's first "Fashion's Night Out," a celebration of style and beauty created by Vogue Magazine, on Thursday September 8th from 6-9p.m. in Nordstrom Court. Sponsored locally by Helen Wells Agency and North Magazine, Fashion's Night Out will honor the latest design while contributing to a good cause.

 

Makeup Monday - What's that Smell?

The other day at work someone asked me what I was wearing - referring to a scent. I actually wasn't wearing anything - scent wise that is.  I can't wear most fragrances because of my asthma. It sucks because I used to love all sorts of fragrances. I finally had to stop wearing them because it was just not worth the constant coughing (my form of catching my breath). Anyway, there are a few scents I can wear. It's quite random and mostly in the form of a lotion. No sprays allowed.
Thankfully, I can still wear one of my all time favorite scents - COCONUT or most things that smell of a Caribbean vacation. I was thrilled to read in InStyle mag about Molton Brown Desert Bloom Intense Hand Rescue. The caption reads "Using this exotic flower scented hand cream is like a mini-vacation in the middle of my workday". SOLD! Who doesn't need a mini-vacay in the middle (or any part) of your workday? I know I do.



I first tried Molton Brown products while  staying in a hotel somewhere. It's been so long I don't remember where. What I do remember is how wonderful the products smell. Not to mention the packaging. The company was founded in 1973 in London as a hair salon.
