I have been a big fan of orange for just about my entire adult life. I have a friend who wore it and wore it well all the time.

I admit, in the past few years I have been wearing mostly black. Partly because I was feeling frumpy and black is supposed to make you appear to look thinner.

With my weight loss, I find myself wearing bright colors. Bright yellows, pinks and of course ORANGES!  When I eat healthier, I just feel good and the bright colors reflect that feeling.

Nordstrom posted this picture on their Facebook and Twitter pages and I just fell in love all over again with orange.

I'm planning to do a shopping spree for new Spring/Summer wear and some basics in a few weeks. Guess what is at the top of my list? You guessed it - orange items.

I also just realized that I am using orange accents in our family room. We have two built in bookcases on both sides of our fire place. My husband is finishing up working on them. Of course, I started buying the accessories for the shelves. I found some super cute accent items from TJ Maxx.

  As hot as it has been across most of the country, it's still just about time for the Fall Fashion to start arriving in stores. In fact, it's probably already there. Nordstrom is in the final day of their Anniversary Sale - which offers huge discounts on Fall Wear. I also just received an email from Neiman Marcus about Fall wear.  The email read "Borrowed from the Boys - Menswear Influences Tailored for Her". I think I like it. 

 Remember Diane Keaton in Woody Allen's 1977 hit "Annie Hall"?

Suits:
  Suits  will play a huge role in Fall Fashion 2012. Not boxy jackets, but form fitting jackets paired with flared, high waisted pants. Add a cute pair of stilletos and there you have the perfect Men Inspired Women's suit.

Ties and Scarves:
  Scarves continue to be "in" this Fall 2012. Tie them in a variety of ways to feminize (is that a word?) your suit. I personally LOVE scarves.

Ties:
 Ties are making an appearance in Fall 2012 fashion.  The ties for women tend to be more thinner than the ones for men.

 Have you seen the Laura Mercier Limited Edition nail polishes for Spring 2012?  I saw them a few weeks ago as I was purchasing my "special brown" eyeliner from the line at Nordy's.  They only had two colors left - Flamingo and Luscious. I opted for Luscious. It's a fuchsia/purple color that is simply gorgeous. I think it may be a bit bright for my new job, but it will be perfect for my toes and while on vacation. 

 The polish goes on with very little effort. It offers great coverage just with one coat, but I would suggest two coats. It reminds me of another polish favorite - Chanel. Sure they both cost a bit more than your average polish, but well worth the money when you think of the chip factor. 

  The bottle is simple and beautiful. I have a different designer "showcases" in my closet and this color made it's way on the Kate Spade showcase. It fits in beautifully!

 I was just on the Nordstrom website to refill some of my makeup collection when I noticed they were still selling the entire collection.  Now - do I choose Ooohhh Lala or Flamingo????

Stylin' Saturday - Sad News

I just found out the other day that the Nordstrom in Circle Centre Mall is closing on July 31st, 2011. The Indianapolis Business Journal reported the story. Sure, we have another one at the Fashion Mall, but this will always be MY Nordy's. I just love the atmosphere. It was within walking distance of my office when I worked downtown. I've met girlfriends there for lunch at both of their restaurants. I've attended Spring and Fall Trend events there (when the still had them). Discovered Deborah Lippman products, Michele watches, and so much more there. I hosted a Fashionista Event there with 30 of my closest friends. So, it will be a little sad to see them go. Evidently, based on the IBJ article, But many of Nordstrom's most-sought-after customers now shop at the chain's newer store at The Fashion Mall at Keystone, and the crowds of convention visitors who shop at Circle Centre aren't picking up enough of the slack.  Sad.

On the brighter side, Nordstrom Rack is opening in the Fall at the Rivers Edge Crossing shopping center.
In the meantime, the Women's Half - Yearly Sale is going on now. So, head on over, grab a few deals, a bite to eat and say "Goodbye".

 I am a big fan of bronzers and use them as my blush. I found this great combo  by Bobbi Brown on-line at Nordy's today. Dontcha love it? It comes with a Mini Bronzer Brush, Bahamas Illuminating Bronzer Powders and Gold Coast Lip Glaze - all for $55. 

Dior - Nirvana

I am a bit obsessed with the color blue right now. Caribbean blue to be exact. All in anticipation of our upcoming cruise. This Dior Nirvana is perfect. Mind you,  it's probably not a color that I will wear to the office (accounting). I'm thinking more of on our cruise wear. How fun would this color be on the beach?
