Rejuvenate! 2013

Rejuvenate! 2013

Every year, I have a Spa Day with my girlfriends. We have been doing this for almost 10 years now.
Typically, we go to a local spa and then have lunch.

This year, I have decided to change it up a bit:

  1.  It's going to happen at my home
  2. It's going to focus around Health, Fitness and Relaxation
  3. Changed the name to Rejuvenate! 2013
I'll have two rooms set aside for the spa rooms. We have an awesome massage therapist coming to do the massages.

We have a yoga instructor and a Zumba instructor coming for 4 mini sessions! I am so excited to share these classes with my attendees. Some of whom have never tried either and some who are pros!

We'll have my favorite frozen yogurt, Pinkberry catered - in addition to some awesome smoothies, salads and more healthy foods for the ladies to try.

The swag bags are super cute (from lulu lemon) and will be filled with some great little goodies!

I was just selected to host a House Party Morning Star Farms party! The great news is that I can do the party on the same day as our Spa Day (now known as Rejuvenate! 2013). As a hostess, I will receive coupons to buy products to serve, coupons for my guests and guess what? They are also supplying my guests with a swag bag! Two swag bags at a party - I can't wait to share.

The craziness is that the following week, I am hosting my sisters baby shower at our home! Was I crazy to plan so close together? Nope! I LOVE THIS STUFF..........................

I'll be posting about both after they happen.

What do you do to rejuvenate? I would love to hear......

Rejuvenate! 2013

Rejuvenate! 2013

23 Healthy Salads Nutrition Experts Eat / SPA SINGAPORE | Spa Treatments, Massage Services / Pictures of Yoga Poses# / Lululemon issues recall for shopping bags due to lead risk / Pinkberry / Zumba - Ditch the Workout, Join the Party

Almost every year,  I schedule a Spa Day for the ladies. I've done it a couple of times at our last home, never at our new home and mostly at various spas in the city.

This year, I have added a bit more to the mix. I am including healthy eating items - including salads, smoothies, Pinkberry frozen yogurt and more.

We'll have Zumba and yoga sample sessions. Enough for the ladies to get a small workout.

Of course, we'll have our spa treatments which will be set up in my guest rooms. Who doesn't love a great spa treatment?

Our local lululemon athletica has donated their super awesome bags which I will fill with spa/fitness goodies for the attendees. I love their shopping bags!

One really cool part is that teen girls are invited this year. Many of my friends have daughters and I think this will be a great bonding time for them.

I'll do a post after the event full of photos and all.

lululemon athletica - manifesto & more

Manifesto from lululemon athletica's website
My husband and I have started doing yoga. We started with the P90X yoga DVD and now I am ready to move on to another DVD. I also think I see an actual yoga class in my future. Wow -I NEVER thought I would say that. Mind you, I am still not as flexible as I'd like. I am willing to give it a try.
A couple of years ago, I was in Chicago with some friends. We had to make a stop for one of my friends at a special store. An athletic store - WHAT? Unheard of for me. I'm not a huge fan of athletic stores. I tend to wear sweat pants and a tee or sweatshirt. So, I had no need to go to those stores. Trust me, I was dreading going into this store. It was as if I were having major surgery.  What a surprise when I walked in. The color and cute clothing and the decor was delightful!  The store? lululemon athletica  I love the sayings on the walls. I was hooked. I still didn't buy anything that trip because I wasn't working out regularly. I just couldn't justify the cost.
Not now. I have been on a regular workout routine for some months now. I think I am willing to make the investment now. Best? We have a lululemon athletica here in Indy now. AWESOMEness!

Here is a bit about the company from their website:

After 20 years in the surf, skate and snowboard business, founder Chip Wilson took the first commercial yoga class offered in Vancouver and found the result exhilarating. The post-yoga feeling was so close to surfing and snowboarding that it seemed obvious that yoga was an ideology whose time had come (again).
The lululemon name was chosen in a survey of 100 people from a list of 20 brand names and 20 logos. The logo is actually a stylized "A" that was made for the first letter in the name "athletically hip", a name which failed to make the grade.
Founded in 1998, lululemon's first real store opened in the beach area of Vancouver BC called Kitsilano, in November of 2000. The idea was to have the store be a community hub where people could learn and discuss the physical aspects of healthy living from yoga and diet to running and cycling as well as the mental aspects of living a powerful life of possibilities. Unfortunately for this concept, the store became so busy that it was impossible to help the customer in this way in addition to selling the product.
So the focus of training shifted solely to the lululemon educator or staff person. Our goal was to train our people so well that they could in fact positively influence their families, communities and the people walking into our stores.
Although the initial goal was to only have one store, it was soon obvious that to provide a fulfilling life of growth, family, salary and mortgage for our amazing staff, we would have to provide more opportunities. It was really a matter of grow or die because active minds need a challenge.
