C Wonder and Caroline Manzo

Another store opening at The Fashion Mall this month (June 2013) is C Wonder.  If you are wondering (pun intended) what C Wonder is, don't worry you aren't alone.

I had no idea what it was. That is until someone from lulu lemon filled me in. Turns out that C Wonder is a part of the Burch Creative Capital Brand. Yep - that's right Tory Burch's ex-husband. You can read more about their story (not so pretty) here.

Anyhoo, Caroline Manzo from the Real Housewives of New Jersey will have a book signing at the new Indy store on June 8, 2013. She has to be one of my favorite Real Housewives. That is when I used to watch the shows. I had to stop because of all of the craziness.

I am going to try to attend the event and will definitely post if I do. I wonder if Albie will be there? Love him.

Kate Spade Grand Opening - Indy style

I am sure you all know about my love for Kate Spade. You've also read about my excitement that the brand was finally going to have an Indy presence.

Well, they made it here on May 24th. I didn't venture up that way until the grand opening/blogger event     on May 30th.

Blogger Jessica Quirk of What I Wore (pictured above) was the featured guest. She is super tall and I loved the dress she selected to wear for the event.

After grabbing a delicious (as always) small frozen yogurt from Pinkberry, my aunt and I headed to the grand opening event. This of course after she made a wonderful purchase from lulu lemon.

Kate Spade is most easily reached by entering at the Cheesecake - Crate and Barrel entrance.  It's just across from the Coach store. Michael Kors is coming June 13 and will be in the same wing.

The store is brightly lit with tons of color. It really speaks to the company motto of "Live Colorfully".
There is a lot of color. All of the employees were decked out in Kate Spade gear and looked fabulous.

They offered cute mini cupcakes, mini bottles of coke and Pelligrino as opening treats. The store was full in a matter of minutes after we arrived. I mean full!

The entrance to the store showcases the jewelry items as well as a few purses. The back section has the shoes, clothing and again more of their fabulous purses.

There was a crowd around the cash register area. I wondered if everyone just knew what they wanted and was ready to purchase. Nope that wasn't it. There was a raffle for a brand new Kate Spade bag. It was gorgeous. Just my style - black, cream and British tan. The ladies and a few gents were signing up to win. Yep, we jumped in that line with a quickness.

One of the employees had a wonderful stack of bracelets. So, I decided that is what I would look at. I don't need another bag!  I love that the bracelets are fun and whimsical. They look great stacked with my Michael Kors Runway watch.

The discount they offered was wonderful. The purchasing line at the register was HUGE. Granted they only had two registers, but I don't think during the course of a normal day they would need many more than that. It will certainly get busy during the holiday season, but I still think two is doable.

I had a great time and hope the new store does well..............

Now if we can just get a Tory Burch store here.................

Customer Appreciation Event......W-S

I am in love with all things Williams - Sonoma. You can read about my Staub grill pan (here)  that I can not live with out. I'm also a fan of their foodie items. My most recent love is the lime chili rub. I sampled chicken breast with this rub at the store a few weeks ago and absolutely fell in love. I purchased the last container in the store that day. I put it on EVERYTHING! Most recently, it made it's way on corn on the cob. I simply sprayed my corn with olive oil and sprinkled the rub on it. Wrapped in foil, it cooked in the oven for about 15 minutes at 400 degrees. It was so good with dinner, but guess what? It was even BETTER the next day.

I received an invite via email to a Customer Appreciation Day at the store. They are having them all over the country. Be sure to check out the date and time of yours by clicking on the image below. They will have tastings, demonstrations, and so much more. If you are in the Indy area, you can check out the one at The Fashion Mall at Keystone at the Crossing.

You may also want to check out some of the other events they have. They are always offering some sort of fun and informative class. You can usually get a discount on items you purchase the day of the event.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas....

In my last post, I wrote of being sick. Well, part of that prevented me from putting up our Christmas tree decor. Hubs was sick, too. So, he wasn't much help either. We both looked extremely pitiful and sounded even worse.

Anyway, I was determined to get the tree and decor up. Two weekends (and my birthday) after my original decorating date, the tree went up. Little Maxi had a blast "helping" with the tree. He is fascinated by the glitter ball ornaments. Coco? Not so much.

Brand New Restoration Hardware ornaments

I purchased quite a few brand new ornaments this year. Over the last twelve years, we have had gold and maroon colors because those were the main colors in our old home. This year I opted to change to browns, golds and silvers. Lots of sparkly ones! We also started collected Christmas ornaments from trips we take. I wish we had started this a while ago. We would have had some very cool ones. We have some from NYC, Nassau, St.Lucia - as well as a few others. I also have a few Starbucks drink ornaments from over the years. We recently purchased an Angry Birds (for Domi) and Hello Kitty (for Gabrielle) ornaments for the tree. You should have seen Gabrielle and Domi's faces when they saw them! Pure joy!

During a shopping trip to Restoration Hardware at  The Fashion Mall, I found the most beautiful red glass ornaments. They are spectacular. They are heavy and add just the right amount of color to our tree. Best? They were on sale. Yep, a great sale before the day after Christmas sale. I am planning to purchase more very soon. Hopefully, they will still have some left when I go back.

My husband also has been busy building built-ins on both sides of our fireplace. He's almost finished, just a few more finishing touches. I keep trying to put decor on them, but he keeps saying "I'm not done yet". Maybe he won't notice the shelf with the lighted garland and silver decor - lol.

We still have a few more ornamnets to put on  just to fill in some spaces.

One of my dear friends is a HUGE old movie buff. She has their tree decorated with ornaments from Little Women, The Wizard of Oz, Gone with the Wind and more. I love it! I am really into themed trees this year.

What colors are you decorating with this year?
